Looking for a stylish modern heading for your curtains?
Eyelet headings look fabulous in your home and are increasingly popular. The easiest way to achieve this look is to use eyelet header tape. This tape can be affixed easily to any curtain - just follow the straightforward instructions included with your order and on our website. No special tools are needed, just a sewing machine, pen and pair of scissors. This tape includes plastic spacers at the back which will form pleats in the curtain - there are two settings, one giving 2 times fullness and the other giving two and a quarter times fullness. Alternatively the spacers can be cut off to allow a free-form spacing. For eyelet curtains you will always need an even number of eyelet rings on each curtain. The eyelet rings are plastic and clip onto a metal ring in the eyelet tape. There are 6 eyelets per metre of tape. The price quoted is per 6 eyelets of tape (just under 1 metre) and includes the plastic eyelet rings.
Eyelet tape width = 8cm
Internal dimension of eyelet ring = 4cm
Distance from centre of one eyelet to centre of next eyelet = 17cm
Distance from edge of one eyelet to edge of the next = 11cm
Number of eyelets per metre = 6
To buy eyelet tape first choose the eyelet colour from the list - see pictures of the colours available.
Next choose the number of metres of tape you need and adjust the quantity.
Here is an easy calculator for the most common requirements using 54"/140cm curtain fabric (or you can simply measure your curtains) :

Ordered this because there are 6 holes to the metre which makes the finishing a lot easier - there are fewer holes to cut out!!. The instructions were very clear making the whole process of using this product uncomplicated. However, the instructions state that if the curtains are to be lined, the lining should be cut off just underneath the rings. This I did and the finished product was awful as the curtains were very fine cotton. I had to attach a false piece to the top of my lining and finish off as per instructions. Very please with the finished result but I think that you should be aware that if the curtain fabric is too thin, you will need to add some form of padding or facing.

I can't believe that by changing the heading tape my Lounge curtains now look modern and smart. With the weight of the curtains the old pencil pleat tape had sagged and the curtains looked very untidy. The curtains were very expensive at the time and there is nothing wrong with them but now Wow! I'm so happy with them they look new again. I was thinking of buying new ones but as they match the furniture, I was reluctant to do this. Thank you for the excellent instructions that were very easy to follow. I may even try doing this to some of my other curtains! Thank You again.

the tape is a little on the narrow side so that when the sewing machine gets to an eyelet it veers off a little. The tape could do with being just that bit wider. Also, pressing on the eyelets was difficult as my material was quite thick so a couple of them got bent as the metal was quite soft. Having said that, the customer service from Livingstone was excellent so can't fault them.
